On Wednesday November 11, 1942 the security police under the leadership of Willy Lages raid and all employees were discharged. The relatives were picked up that day but Lineke's mother Eva hung a sign on her window "measles". They escaped that day to transport. The family lived in the De Vries Transvaalstraat 116 house. The parents gave Lineke a diary. She loved kidney beans, and her mother would take her to Oosterpark where they fed ducks. Her uncle Max tries to find her a hiding place, they are taken away at night on March 11, 1943 and transported by the Dutch Theatre to Vught. Immediately upon their arrival, Lineke's shoes get stolen, for three months she walks barefooted wearing the same knitted dress. Her mother wrote "she was always thirsty and sunburned." She was only allowed to see her mother on Sunday for an hour. Lineke and her mother were transported to Westerbrok. They were there until June 8, 1943.
